Greetings from Tempe, Arizona!
With 7 studio albums in their repertoire, The Maine has clearly shown their dedication to their craft.
Leaving their label in 2011 after two studio albums, The Maine released the rest of their albums independently with their management team, 8123.
Having the freedom to create what they wanted, The Maine experiments with different rock genres while remaining true to their unique sound.
The Maine are never one to shy away from lyrics with deeper meanings and topics such as mental health, growing up and breaking down.
Their newest album, You Are OK, takes a leap forward by focusing the whole album on the topic of mental health. Songs such as “Slip the Noose” and “Broken Parts” make listeners who struggle with anxiety, depression and other illnesses feel less alone. Singer John O’Callaghan reminds us that you can be OK — maybe not now, but the possibility to get better and feel different each day is there.
You are a million different little things You are the sunrise, You are the fall of the moon A little love, A little anxiety A skeleton of bones, A mess of ideas in your head You are not what they say you are You are so much more You are humility, You are grace You are a surprise But never once a disappointment You are glitter, You are gloom Introverted, Fucked up, and fragile A fraction of a half, you deserve to feel wanted and young, and respected and wild, and complex, and adored and so on You are a million different little things Just like me But above all of these little things You are the greatest thing you’ll ever know… You are you and YOU ARE OK. ❤ John, Pat, Kennedy, Garrett, Jared
